This blog was started in 2011 right after the triple disaster struck Japan on March 11. It shall serve to update interested readers on ongoing changes in modern Japanese politics, society and economy.
Having lived in Japan for more than 20 years I continue to monitor and analyse changes through European eyes. My professional expertise means a strong emphasis on communication topics and perspectives. I regard this to be in particular important as perceptions are often more powerful as the reality and – as we all know – perceptions of Japan are still often based rather on assumptions and hearsay than on understanding and thorough analysis.
I hope you will find this blog to be a useful source of information and opinion.
