What was your motivation in applying for a job at CNC Japan?
As next steps in may career as communications professional I wanted to work in a more international environment. I have been working as a corporate communications professional for about 7 years. Prior to CNC, I was working for the largest PR agency in Japan, engaged mainly in long-term corporate communications for U.S.-based global corporations. Personally, I grew up largely overseas, spending 10 years in Hong Kong and 3 years in the U.S.
For me, CNC is a wonderful workplace, in which I have been able to encounter new perspectives. The European perspective, I find, is completely different from that of the Asian and U.S. business cultures that I have experienced so far. I am convinced that CNC has provided me with a challenging environment in which I can work closely with many experienced European executives as well as professionally-oriented colleagues throughout the world. This unique environment has enabled me to further hone my global competencies as a corporate communications professional, and I truly am enjoying the dynamism of this globalized workplace.
Does CNC’s international set-up have an impact on your daily work? How would you describe the collaboration between the different offices?
Yes, it does has an inpact. In Japan, we have many domestic companies, especially manufacturers, who want to globalize their business operations and/or better localize their existing European business operations. In such cases, CNC’s international set-up plays a vital role in optimizing the communications approaches of those companies. You cannot achieve successful communications without local perspectives on the market and media environments. CNC can offer the most balanced communications solutions through cross-border collaboration between the different offices.
The CNC Corporate Strategy Summit takes place once a year. What are your main takeaways from this event/conference?
It was great opportunity for me to better understand our company’s vision, culture, and most importantly, my colleagues. I am really embracing our company’s family atmosphere with professional and enthusiastic colleagues.
