Dr. Thomas Gauly is a Partner and Member of the Board at CNC.
Before joining CNC, he was responsible for Company Communications & Investor Relations as General Manager at ALTANA AG, Bad Homburg. From 1998 to 2007 he was a member of the board of the Herbert Quandt Foundation and previous to that spokesman for the Herbert Quandt family.
From 1991 to 1995 he was staff unit manager of the «Political Planning and Special Functions» section of the CDU Deutschland (German Christian Democratic Party). In this capacity he represented the CDU Deutschland at, among others, the EVP (European People’s Party) in Brussels and Strasbourg and worked as advisor to the Secretary-General and to Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl
In the years prior to this he was active in the Roman Catholic Church’s organisation for encouraging talented students, and before that as a freelance journalist for newspapers and for the German public broadcasting channel ZDF.
He studied politics, Roman Catholic theology and contemporary history at the Universities of Mainz and Bonn (M.A.). From 1994 to 1996 he was guest lecturer at Trinity Hall College, Cambridge.
Thomas Gauly coined the concept of «integral communication» and received a number of awards for his work in the field of communications, including the «German Image Award» from the FAZ Institute and the «German PR Prize in Gold» from the German Public Relations Association (DPRG).
